The Guelph Indigenous Community Council vision is to improve the Indigenous community lives, to learn culture, grow our spirits & knowledge so our Indigenous community & children can thrive.
Mission
We aim to bring together the Guelph Urban Indigenous Peoples through collaboration, consultation, communication, leadership and a unified voice in order to be heard, seen and present as an Indigenous community.
Goals
- To protect the human rights, citizenship and wholistic well-being of the Guelph Indigenous community.
- Create & ensure a safe place for the Guelph Indigenous Community to meet, learn, collaborate and socialize.
- To ensure that the Truth & Reconciliation Calls to Action/UNDRIP are actively being implemented to improve the lives of the Guelph Indigenous Community.
- To create and establish respectful and meaningful communications that support inclusive Indigenous relationships with other organizations, businesses & allies.
- Establish communications & relationships with Guelph local resources for the Indigenous community.
- Advocate for cultural resources & resource people.
- To create and establish a land-based community learning space that will include Guelph Indigenous peoples, businesses & artists.
